RIP Michael Jackson

The long-awaited Phish comeback disc will be released "this summer," has 10 tracks and will be called Joy [Rolling Stone]
If for nothing else than the opportunity to listen to John Malkovich speak for 90 minutes, I enjoyed The Great Buck Howard. But it's too bad the coming-of-age/prestidigitation flick (sounds like a winner, right?) didn't gain a wider audience, because Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are basically the featured band. Check out this new clip from the closing credits featuring the new track "Telling the Truth and Going Away." But remember, if you want some Colin Hanks, you'll have to rent the whole thing.
Jay-Z sets Blueprint 3 release date: New set due September 11 via Roc Nation/Atlantic Records
Is Springsteen on Twitter? The rumor mill says yes. Bruuuuuce(?)
Look out hipsters, 500 Days of Summer is here to end Garden State's five-year reign atop the indie soundtrack hall of fame. Note the inclusion of Hall & Oates, adding a dose of that 80's irony the cool kids love so much. (Though to be fair, they've been on the comeback trail for a while now.) Anyway, for this summer's soundtrack that will change your life, keep reading:
01 Mychael Danna and Rob Simonsen: "A Story of Boy Meets Girl"
02 Regina Spektor: "Us"
03 The Smiths: "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out"
04 Black Lips: "Bad Kids"
05 The Smiths: "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want"R
06 Doves: "There Goes the Fear"
07 Hall & Oates: "You Make My Dreams"
08 The Temper Trap: "Sweet Disposition"
09 Carla Bruni: "Quelqu'un M'a Dit"
10 Feist: "Mushaboom"
11 Regina Spektor: "Hero"
12 Simon & Garfunkel: "Bookends"
13 Wolfmother: "Vagabond"
14 Mumm-Ra: "She's Got You High"
15 Meaghan Smith: "Here Comes Your Man"
16 She & Him: "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want"
"Paranoid" is probably my favorite cute from Kanye's 808s and Heartbreak. This is what I was expecting when we were promised a synth-heavy, 80s inspired experiment - Less heartbreak, tolerable auto-tune and, you know, a beat. Plus, totally digging the comic book typeface and Kanye-as-Wolfman motif. MJ would be proud...and apparently very hungry.
