We caught The Gutter Twins on the Late Show last night - Dave was into it (he asked the guys to "drive cross country with him" after the show) and so were we. But hey - on the other hand Leno did have Lisa Lampanelli, so we expect a lot of people missed it...sigh
Check out the clip after the jump.

Ahhhh Vampire Weekend. We've stayed out of the debate up until now, but now that the band's debut LP is finally on the shelves, it must be asked: Why all the fuss yo?
Seriously kids - This is a well played, professional, totally enjoyable but lightweight batch of indie pop. No more, no less. Sure the Paul Simon influences are fun, and Ezra Koenig does indeed love to play up his boats and blazers mentality - But this hardly constitutes an album worth agonizing over. We dig it. Lots of others do too. So should you. Now let's move on.
Check out Vampire Weekend on Late Show with David Letterman after the jump.

Sia's Some People Have Real Problems dropped back on January 9, and despite generally positive reviews and that Zero 7 pedigree, we really haven't paid much attention so far. But that appearance on Jimmy Kimmel last week finally got us on board.
"Buttons" is a pretty catchy tune on its own, but it becomes basically the coolest song ever written when you introduce black lights, glow sticks (and perhaps a touch of acid). Check it out after the jump.

Mp3 player and car commercials have been using blogger rock to empty our pockets for years - why not chewing gum? Have you been wondering about that song in the new Dentyne Ice commercial? Us too. Turns out it's a tune called Stuttering (Kiss Me Again" by Ben's Brother. Listen to the track over at MySpace, or check out our YouTube clip after the jump.

So is it just us, or was this weekend's SNL actually pretty good? Brian Williams was one of the better non-"entertainer" hosts in ages, showing off some solid comedic chops and having no problem at all playing the pompous anchorman image for laughs. But more importantly, how awesome was Feist?! The tempo on "1234" and "I Feel it All" was taken up a notch and the tunes were better for it. It was more than enough to have us busting The Reminder out of storage. Check out both clips after the jump.

As die-hard Yankee fans here at SS, this year's blink-and-you-missed-it Series was obviously a bit painful, even in its brevity. But we did catch a new iPod commercial that used pretty much the single greatest lyric for the new Touch version: "My music is where I'd like you to touch." CSS, did you know you were writing a million dollar jingle when you penned "Music is My Hot, Hot Sex?" We thinks not, but the 18 year old kid that thought up the clip should have a seat next to Steve Jobs. Check out the clip after the jump.

Live cuts from even our favorite hip hop acts can sometimes be hit or miss. Case in point: Brooklyn native Talib Kweli has always been an SS fav, and Eardrum might be his best work to date, but his performance of "Hot Thing" on Jimmy Kimmel last week left us a little cold. Check out the clip after the jump and let us know what you think.
